Greyhound Derby Offer from Blue Square

Blue Square are sponsoring the Greyhound Derby for the next three years. This year’s final will be held at Plough Lane’s Wimbledon stadium on the 7th of July and the winner’s purse will be £100,000.

Blue Square have a special ante-post offer. All each way bets on the 2007 Blue Square Greyhound Derby placed before the first round will be settled at 1/4 the odds 1,2,3,4,5,6. This offer will be backdated to apply to bets already placed.

Currently heading the betting at 20/1 with Blue Square is Nick Savva’s Westmead Hawk. The dual Derby winning star is on course to recover from his major hock injury and should he make it back to Plough Lane in the summer, ‘The Hawk’ will be attempting an unprecedented third win in the event.

Previous Winners
The English Greyhound Derby is the most prestigious race in the racing calendar with a history stretching back to 1927. If he recovers from injury, Westmead Hawk will be attempting an unprecedented hat-trick of wins this summer.

Only the legendary Mick The Miller in 1929/30, Patricias Hope in 1972/73 and of course Rapid Ranger in 2000/01 and ‘the Hawk’ have managed two wins in the 80 years of Derby action.
