The mathematical odds of winning this week's Euro lottery are 76,000,000/1. But the odds of a single winning ticket scooping the huge jackpot are just 2/1 and for the single winning ticket to be purchased in the UK is 14/1, according to bookmakers William Hill.

France is the favourite place for the ticket to be purchased at 10/1 with the smaller countries of Ireland and Luxembourg at 25/1 and 50/1 respectively.
"If you look at the odds it is a terrible bet but with massive sales predicted it is highly likely that someone will get the required numbers and that the whole shooting match is won by a single ticket holder. There is no other gamble anywhere where a £1.50 stake can be turned into £95 million, get on you have to be in it to win it," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
"The only thing we might offer odds of 76 million to one about are the world ending on a specific date. As in theory it would be all but impossible to collect the winnings for the end of the world", said Adams. Indeed William Hill have published a list of events that would carry equivalent odds to winning this week's Euro lotery.
Among those events would be for new England coach Fabio Capello to pick himself for En gland and score a hat-trick in the finbal of the 2010 World Cup; for the next British Prime Minister to be chosen on a reality TV programme called I'm A Politician....Make me PM aired on the Playboy Channel and for the Queen to abdicate and Posh Spice to be the crowned in her place.
William Hill odds for a single winning jackpot ticket in Euro-millions draw: 2/1
William Hill odds if Jackpot won by a single ticket - Where will it have been sold......10/1 France, 12/1 UK, 14/1 Portugal, 16/1 Spain, 20/1 Austria, 20/1 Switzerland, 25/1 Belgium, 25/1 Ireland, 50/1 Luxembourg.
