Amir Khan Favoured for Early Knock Out Victory Over Oisin Fagan

Khan is listed at 888sport as a massive 1/16 favourite over Fagan with round-by-round knockout odds paying out lower than a victory on points.

Oisin Fagan is paying out at a full 7/1 for any time of victory while a Khan victory on points is paying the same. If Khan knocks out Fagan between round 1 and round 4, you're looking at a 6/1 payout. Round 5 pays out at 7/1, round 6 pays 10/1 and rounds 8 to 14 pays out between 16/1 and 25/1. Clearly, the bookmakers feel that Khan will strike early. This fight is not expected to go the distance.

A Fagan victory on points is paying out a massive 25/1 while a draw pays 33/1. Should Fagan do the unthinkable and knock out Khan, you're looking at round by round betting ranging from 40/1 to 66/1.

PREDICTIONS

There clearly isn't much value in backing Khan for the outright win. I think the bookmakers are being a bit presumptuous in backing Khan, at 1/16 it seems to be a virtual certainty that he'll take the victory. However, I think Fagan has more of a chance than some people think he does. Khan was embarrassed in his previous fight and, as a young boxer, the nerves could come back to bit him on the ass again. I think Amir will pull this one off, but he may have a hard-time knocking Fagan down. While a Khan KO victory seems to be the favoured outcome here, I can see him taking this one after 12 tough rounds.
