October 23, 2005 WILL MILIBANDWAGON THREATEN GORDON BROWN?....Bookmakers William Hill have slashed the odds about David Miliband succeeding Tony Blair as the next leader of the Labour Party from 50/1 to 14/1 second favourite, while long-time red hot favourite Gordon Brown's odds drifting from 1/10 to 1/7. 'While the attention has been focussed on the race to become leader of the Tories, a number of political punters have been quietly betting substantial sums on David Miliband doing a David Cameron and becoming an unexpected arrival on the leadership scene' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
William Hill now make David Cameron 1/12 favourite to become the next Tory Leader with David Davis at 6/1. In  the Labour race Hills make Brown 1/7 favourite and also offer 14/1 Miliband, Clarke and Blunkett; 20/1 Milburn, Reid, Straw.
